Canada Express Entry facts

Canada Express Entry, as you may know, is the electronic platform through which Canada currently manages its immigration applications. It was introduced in the year 2015 as a super-fast method of bringing fresh talent to the country permanently. Since its introduction, it has invited more than 50,000 professionals from around the world and given them a stable career as promised by Canada.

Soon after it was introduced, Canada Express Entry became a trending topic. Whether you want to immigrate to Canada or not, was the term "Express Entry" enough to spark a curiosity in you to know what is so raving about this system? Over time, the Canadian government announced various aspects of this new system, which helped potential immigrants with easier immigration.

While Canada's immigration system today is as open as any book, there are many hidden layers of amazing information that many of us don't yet know. Taking references from authoritative sources, we bring you some amazing facts about Canada Express Entry that you may not know.

Many provinces link their programs to this system

When Express Entry (EE) was introduced in 2015, many provinces did not adapt their visa programs to this new system. Over time, the provinces recognized that EE was a quick mode to connect skilled talent and provincial employers and hence, many of their immigration streams were associated with it. Currently, there are around 15-17 streams of provincial programs which are linked to Express Entry. These streams are frequently opened for limited usage of the application.

Language skill is the favorite of Express Entry

You can have many skills, Express Entry likes your language skills the most! This may sound funny, but it is the proven funda of this Canadian immigration system. While the comprehensive ranking score is used as a means to draw applications from the EE pool, it has been found that when it comes to analyzing key human capital factors, language skills are often the first dimension on which an applicant is judged. So, for the same reason, Canada offers extra points for combining French and English language skills.

In recent immigration news, you've heard a lot about Express Entry's tie-breaker draw. What are these tiebreakers? This is nothing but a solution brought by CIC to take applications with competitive CRS ranks.

For example, when you're in a competitive race with other applicants who have the same comprehensive ranking score as you, and the province you've applied for has a limited number of invitations, who will the province choose? In such situations, tie-breakers come to the rescue. CIC draws a tie-breaker and invites similar ranking profiles based on their application date. Applicants who applied earlier will be selected later.

This means that sometimes applying early can be the only reason you have competitive success, doesn't it?

Job Bank, is not required while creating an EE profile

Although this may not be an unknown fact, it is still uncommon among many Canada PR visa aspirants. There are many people all over the world, especially those applying for visas on their own, who register for Job Bank Profile with EOI, considering it is still mandatory. Since 2017, Job Bank registration has become a voluntary requirement in the Canadian immigration process. There were some, and we want that to continue, so we are allowing people to go to the job bank on an optional basis. A necessary step," said a senior policy analyst at IRCC. In regards to why the job bank has now become voluntary in Canadian immigration.

Express Entry now requires biometrics

When you are filing for a Canada PR visa, you may be asked to submit biometrics as proof of your identity. The new rule is already effective on citizens of the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and soon Asians and other citizens will also be asked to submit their biometrics as part of their Canadian immigration process. The Government of Canada states that this initiative is intended to simplify the application process and facilitate the entry of low-risk travellers to Canada. "Visa officers will use biometrics to screen applicants and analyze their previous criminal convictions or Canadian immigration violations (if any). Also, biometrics will be used by the traveller as confirmation of his identity when entering Canada," confirms a recent news release.

Express Entry is an inspiration to nations

If you think that Express Entry is just a platform or points-based immigration system, let us tell you that it is much more than that! With the introduction of the EE system, Canada has become the first country in the world to invite skilled talent on a points-based system. This has attracted many places
